PopSearch puts all your favorite search engines a keystroke away.

No matter what web page you're looking at, just press the configurable hotkey (the default is Command–K) and up pops the PopSearch search box. Type your search terms, select a search engine in the menu, press Enter, and PopSearch takes you straight to your search results.

PopSearch comes with a few predefined search engines, but it's easy to add your own. Just click the Settings button in the search popup and enter a search URL template. Or let PopSearch automatically create and add a search template for you by using the Engine Wizard on a search results page.

If you select some text in Safari before calling PopSearch, that text will be automatically entered into the Search box. PopSearch also optionally remembers the last search engine you used on recently visited sites and selects it for you the next time.

PopSearch supports search engine keywords so you can select an engine quickly by typing a short keyword in the input box before the search terms. For example, type "g safari" and press Enter to search for "safari" on Google.

PopSearch optionally remembers your recent search queries. When you start typing a query, PopSearch displays a list of matching recent queries in a drop-down menu. If you want to repeat one of those searches, just select an item in the menu and press Enter.

PopSearch even does site-specific searches. To search just the site you're currently viewing, select "Google Here" or "Bing Here". You can define your own site-specific search engines, too.

PopSearch comes with three different appearances, or styles. Choose the one you like best, or create your own with a little knowledge of CSS.

PopSearch requires Safari 5.x. To install it, just download PopSearch.safariextz using the link below, and then double-click the downloaded file in Safari's Downloads window or the Finder.
